With an aim to unite the Northern and Southern states of India for the greater integration of the nation, Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation wanted the Southern Indians to have a Hindi campaign. So, in 1928, he stated the Dakshina Bharat Hindi Prachar Sabha and till 1947, he was the president of the Sabha.
