About the University

Dr. M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute (Deemed University) constitutes of two colleges, namely; Dr. M.G.R. Engineering College, established in 1088 and Thai Moogambiagai Dental College, started in 1991.

Deemed University status has been given to Dr. M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute by the Ministry of Human Resource Development and University Grants Commission.

Today, the University has three main Faculties - Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Faculty of Medicine and Dental Sciences and Faculty of Humanities and Sciences. The varsity through its constituent colleges offers various academic and research programs in these faculties.

Dr. M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute also strives to make education a National and International subject by starting many off-campus and off-shore study centers. At this juncture, we rededicate ourselves to the cause of education and to the service of our students for progress through devotion, dedication, and discipline and to Strive for Excellence.
